Close the Gap, GoodUp and Nailab have joined forces to create the LEAP² Innovation Challenge 2017 in Nairobi.

LEAP² is a challenge that enables innovations to jump the digital divide and LEAP to a next level. By closing the digital divide we mean the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for economical development. LEAP² aims to facilitate the digital transition, create (self-) employment and promote socially responsible entrepreneurship in emerging countries. This LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge will focus on fintech businesses only.

For this challenge we have a focus on Fintech because we would like to find the next solution to for example on how you can create jobs at the bottom of the pyramid using financial and digital solutions, how you can provide access to higher education to the poor through innovative financial and digital solutions or how we can bank the unbankable.

During the LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge, GoodUp, Close the Gap and Nailab, challenge young Kenyan entrepreneurs to boost their innovation by:

1) raising capital through a crowdfunding campaign (with match funding of up to 2,000 EURO)
2) attending professional trainings in crowdfunding and pitching
3) creating a network and the opportunity to showcase their innovation and create the perfect pitch for their business.

Ten innovations will be selected for the LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge. The amount raised will be matched to a max. of €2,000 once the campaign reaches 50%.

As part of the LEAP² Fintech Kenya challenge your innovation receives professional training in crowdfunding and pitching.
