ARE YOU AN EARLY-STAGE SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR?
UnLtd India announces the launch of it’s July 2018 cohort application process and is seeking applications from passionate individuals who want to bring about social change. We support change-makers addressing social problems who want to set-up or have a social enterprise or not-for-profit that is less than 5 years old, working on the Sustainable Development Goals i.e. across all sectors- livelihoods, agriculture, environment, health, education
FOUR I’S
While assessing our social entrepreneurs, we look for the “Four I’s”; impact, individual, idea and incubation. The potential incubatees are judged against our criteria and not against each other.
INDIVIDUAL
We look for individuals who exhibit entrepreneurial characteristics, who have an unwavering commitment to solving a problem and have the ability to garner resources to support their work.
IDEA
We look for ideas that that are focused solutions to fit specific social problems, address an unmet need or under-served sections of society.
IMPACT
We look for ideas that have the potential to create long-term and sustained impact within their communities, at a city/state level and at scale. For Growth Challenge applicants, we look at additional criteria of clear evidence of impact as well as the scalability of the operational and financial model.
INCUBATION
We look for individuals who are open to feedback and who can gain from our non-financial support.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
All applicants must be over the age of 18, citizens of India, have the passion and drive to make social change, and have an idea or existing organization. All existing organizations cannot be legally registered for more than four years.
TEST
All Test applicants must:
- •Be citizens of India and based in Maharashtra or Delhi NCR (includes Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana and Rajasthan)
- •Have a strong motivation to create change and a broad vision for a problem
- •Have basic evidence of need and demand for the idea
- •Have demonstrable leadership skills, a basic implementation plan and sustained time commitment
- •Have a willingness to work with UnLtd India, share learnings with peers in the program, and to become an ambassador for us
1. Eligibility: Applicants fill out an eligibility form to assess whether they fit our basic selection criteria
2. Interview: Eligible applicants are then invited to an in-person screening meeting with our Associates
3. Theory of Change Workshop: Shortlisted applicants are invited to a Theory of Change workshop, where our Associates work with them to help them clarify their goals and map out their ideas
4. Mock Panel: Applicants pitch to a mock panel of our Associates and are given constructive feedback on their pitch and idea
5. Final Pitch: Applicants pitch at our Selection Panels and are assessed by a team of experts from the private sector and the development sector
