StartupWave Mentoring Clinic at the Global Sankalp Summit

StartupWave organized a mentoring clinic at the 7th edition of the Global SANKALP Summit. The Summit was organized by Sankalp Forum, an Intellecap initiative in partnership with FICCI. The summit saw participation from over 1,000 innovators, social entrepreneurs, investors, DFIs, service providers and donors from India as well as Africa, Europe and US.

The Mentoring Clinic powered by StartupWave was designed to provide expert inputs and advice to startups at early and growth stages. Over 28 enterprises were mentored by 18 industry experts.

The entrepreneurs had the opportunity to develop and structure their business models on the StartupWave platform before they met the mentors for one-on-one interaction.

The enterprises came from multiple sectors in the social space and from across the country. There were five enterprises from the Agriculture and Food Industry while there were four enterprises each from Clean energy, Education and Tech for Development. Water, sanitation, financial inclusion, rural distribution and rural marketing were some of the other sectors which saw participation from social enterprises.

The mentors were sector experts, senior investors, serial entrepreneurs, investment bankers and experienced incubators with a passion to nurture and develop enterprises by providing expert advice, industry knowledge and investor-readiness inputs thereby supporting them to scale and impact. Detailed profiles of the mentors can be found here.

The entrepreneurs continue to receive mentorship support and ecosystem connection via the StartupWave platform post the summit.

“Excellent Initiative! The innovator I met had a really interesting product. The mentoring meeting gave me an opportunity to understand the innovation – which is of interest to our fund as potential pipeline. I think the mentoring clinic adds a lot of value to both the entrepreneur as well as mentors. Keep up the good work!”

“Many thanks to the team for providing the mentor selected thoughtfully well. The mentor was perfectly selected and that is why we could reap maximum benefits out of the session. Prachi Jain of SEAF provided 100% clarity that was much needed from the view point of raising funds for the venture.
A clear advice from the funder’s perspective was sought. It has more value than getting funded.”
