Arielle Molino

Manager and Co-Lead, StartupWave Africa

Arielle has been a prominent part of the startup ecosystem in East Africa. As a Manager with the Business Consulting team, Arielle spearheads StartupWave’s East African operations. As an integral part of Intellecap’s Sankalp Forum that recognizes and awards social enterprises, Arielle managed relationships with over 50 donors and investors, 5 large multinational corporations, 25 incubators, and 20 capacity support providers. She has also recruited local high net-worth individuals as angel investors in establishing an East Africa chapter for Intellecap Impact Investment Network (I3N), an angel investor network. As part of her work, she has sourced and screened 300+ high-impact business from across Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi, Ethopia, and Kenya to ultimately select 5 – 10 enterprises to coach and prepare for the I3N investor showcases and the Sankalp Awards Program.

Arielle has earned her certificate in Social Entrepreneurship as a graduate of the 2013 IDEX Accelerator Fellowship. During her fellowship in Bangalore, Arielle divided her time between working with Kamal Kisan, an early-stage agricultural social business and Dream A Dream, an educational-based NGO. She came to India after spending 5 years at the Aspen Institute as a project manager where she worked closely with the administrative departments and policy programs. She has led a summer immersion program in rural Kenya through social entrepreneurship for college students, and has worked at a rehabilitation center for street girls in Nairobi. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the Catholic University of America.

Arielle’s hobbies include photography, knitting/crochet, reading, traveling, gardening, glassblowing, and learning to play the piano.
